Mary (Prower) Martin

Birth: Perhaps around 1585, probably from Great Burstead, Billericay, Essex, England, or vicinity.

  • Christopher Martin, 26 February 1606/7, Great Burstead, Billericay, Essex, England.
Death: Sometime the first winter at Plymouth.

Biographical Summary

Mary (Prower) Martin was born probably around 1580, probably in the vicinity of Great Burstead, Billericay, which is where she married Christopher Martin on 26 February 1606/7; she had previously been married to a Mr. Prower, and mothered a son by him, Solomon Prower.  Mary and Christopher also had a child together, Nathaniel Martin, baptized on 26 February 1609/10 in Billericay.  No other children are recorded to the couple.  Mary came on the Mayflower with her husband Christopher and son Solomon Prower.  They all died the first winter.
